David Rothenberg Papers 1917-1988

David Rotherberg was raised in the Collinwood neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, and collected and wrote materials relating to the history of the Jewish community of Collinwood. The collection consists of materials relating to the history of the Jewish community in Collinwood, a neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, written or compiled by David Rothenberg. It includes an essay; Collinwood Jewish population data for 1929; a list of Collinwood Jewish residents, including their occupations and addresses; congregational announcements from the Jewish Independent for Adath Jeshurun congregation, and its successor, Lake Shore Jewish Center; profiles of the lives of several Jews raised in Collinwood; a copy of the Articles of Incorporation of Adath Jeshurun Congregation; and photographs of Lake Shore Jewish Center and former Collinwood Jewish residents.

David Rothenberg (b. 1921) was raised in the Collinwood neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. During World War II he served in the merchant marine, leaving the service in 1946 with the rank of Lieutenant, J.G. He then worked for thirty-eight years as an electrician in Greater-Cleveland.
